I'm not at all trying to say that that kind of event is not traumatic, but the way that it was all communicated to me as the reader didn't feel right for some reason. For example.there is a part where the h tells a story about her traumatic past she was almost raped by her step father and I was honestly tempted to skim because it didn't feel all that genuine to be honest.

I felt like I was being told about their emotions instead of actually connecting with them and feeling it along with them. I struggled with the fact that every character seemed to burst into tears at every turn. I am disappointed because it had the potential to be a heartfelt and moving story about a man going through a divorce with a young son that has cancer that falls in love with his doctor. It does involve characters from the past novels but it can be read as a standalone with no problem or spoilers about those books.ĪRC kindly provided in exchange for an honest review. Overall, this is a book I would recommend to anyone, even readers that aren't sports-romance fans because this book deserves to be read. I thought everything was very well written and that it all played out in the best possible way for all the characters involved in the story. I devoured this book in one sitting because I refused to get up or let my focus wonder to anything other than these characters. There was still a lot happening in the story that kept me intrigued and forcing myself to not skip to the end to find out what happened. I loved that from the very beginning you just knew that they belonged together and they fit in each others lives perfectly. There really wasn't any big sweep-her-off-her-feet moments, but that worked for these characters. Zack and Denise fell into a romance quickly and with ease. Something So Unscripted was a low angst, sweet, amazing read.
